Back to School Intro Card

Summer is coming to the tail end, and kids are trickling back into school.

I remember it was always such a mixed feeling going back to school. I knew school was fun and I loved being with all my friends, but also I dreaded that first day of school. Perhaps it was sadness over a laissez-faire summer lifestyle, or maybe it was just the jitters of acquainting new teachers and new faces. I cried every year up ‘til I was in third grade. Letting go of my mom’s hand and she whispering in my ear, “You’ll have fun and you’ll learn so much.” And I did have so much fun, but the first day of school was always a mixed bag.

A Funtimer, Emily D, gave me this idea of an intro card for your kid to your teacher. And I love it! Print this card out to give to teachers to make the teachers feel appreciated for all their hard work and ease your child into the first day back at school.

For Teachers

My sister is a middle school teacher, and she suggested a card from the teacher’s point of view to help her students feel welcomed. So, If you’re a teacher/ educator, you can use this version and ask your students what they’d like to share about themselves!
